Old Turnpike Restaurant in Mifflinburg

Okay as far as food is concerned. Fairly well lit. Prices are moderate. It's not bad - but it's not really great, either. Best thing about it is the homemade bread - THAT's good stuff!

I went in not knowing what to expect, as I haven't eaten here in many years. The quality of the food was poor. I had the honey dipt chicken, it was very fatty with minimal amounts of actually meat. My girlfriend has the turkey club and she mentioned it was extremely salty and the bread was very hard. The tomato on the club was also sour and bad. Her grandparents got the ham and stuffing special and it was served with the stuffing and ham mixed together in chunks. The soups were not good either. At least the waitress was kind and generous. This will for sure be last time we go here for a while.

It was a very clean, freindly place. Lots of regular customers.. They have loaves of home made bread that is delicious. Alot of food.. I had ham loaf and I have had better from the grocery store, frozen section. I would go back and try something else

Great. My son and I truly enjoyed the meal and atmosphere. Out waitress was very nice and efficient.

Food was ok but staff should diffuse situations a little faster some crazy lady was giving a customer a hard time about a dog in his car in the ac. The lady I’m assuming is friends with one of the servers so nobody stepped in. Leaving the lady follow the man out of the restaurant. She should have been escorted out friend or not that’s your clients she’s making uncomfortable. Not just the old man either, I’ll tell you what cleared the restaurant out quick!!! I was waiting for the old folk brawl

Food was great, service was okay, we were never asked if we wanted drink refills, our plates were dropped off then didnt see our waitress again until the check was dropped off. Would go back as the food (breakfast) was worth it, I just wish my water would have been refilled!

I stopped and eat at the Turnpike 3 to 4 times a year. The food is great and plentiful. The service is always impeccable!!!

The food wasn't too bad, but you get a lot of food for the price. Each entree came with 3 sides and most of the sides seemed homemade. The macaroni salad was my favorite

Maybe ilI visited on an off day. The service was excellent really sweet and prompt waitress. The food not so good , steak was way too rare, was obvious it was tenderized to point of no return for being a strip steak, eggs very good. Coffee food. Creamed chip beef 90% cream very little beef. Cute little place but not somewhere to go for an impressive breakfast. We will not be back....

Had take out. Not good at all. Mine looks like it was refried. Chicken fingers and fries. Yuk. Mashed potatoes tastes funny and scallops only 5. 2 big, 3 small. . Salad, applesauce and bread good. Was ready at time I asked.

Try the breakfast dish called "The Mess". Delish

This is a very good place to eat. Omelets here are amazing. All of them. The western and the bacon and cheese are my go to. Their homemade toast is great too. If you are traveling through Mifflinburg and want a great breakfast (or lunch) this is the place to go. Enjoy the coffee as well!!

Excellent all the way around! Great food cooked exactly the way I asked. The waitress was fantastic, friendly and professional. The restaurant was warm, welcoming, and best of all clean. A definite top of the list.

Lousy service, ordered fries with a cheese sandwich,they forgot the fries, was done with sandwitch before the fries finally came. Ordered simple lunch items and it took a whole to get food. Friend ordered hit lettuce and it had brown edges on it. Will never go back. Hometown is a block away and five times better.

Place is spotless and waitress was super friendly and on the ball. We had breakfast, so it was basic. Eggs, bacon and pancakes. Not sure how others meals are, though.

Friendly waitress and hostess.. Clean and smells good.. Only three stars because where we were seated there were three flies and the bathroom had flies and the coffee was watery and we ordered lasagna meal.. Salad was awesome but the lasagna was meatless and the lemon pie was awesome

Can in for supper at 5pm and got my food it wasn't hot it was warm and a little gravy .coyldnt get more till food was cold because r sevicer never came back she was seating at the bar talking to people . had to ask someone else for more gravy .and had to go to pay to get r ck . never coming back sorry

This place is terrible the French fries aren’t done enough and the shrimp tastes like the packets from giant and the tuna melt sandwich had no mayo and the oyster soup tasted like nothing and the only good thing is their chicken noodle soup!!!! Nice people and super dirty the carpet has dirt everywhere and theirs dust on the lights!!! And it also smells terrible 🤢🤮and u always feel queazy 🤧 the mug was dirty and the waitress dropped a mug on the floor and acted like she got a new one and put it on the table 🤮🤮🤮

Today was the worst meal I've ever gotten at the turnpike are fries tasted like they were laying back under a heat lamp we even found some raw french fries my warm lettuce that I ordered was brown had brown spots on it my baked corn was lukewarm and a friend of mine that was with had a grilled cheese sandwich and you could hardly find the piece of cheese that was in the sandwich plus he ordered french fries and he got potato chips so yeah this is probably the last time I'll ever go back to the turnpike for what we paid for the meal I will go across the street to Hometown Eatery where the food is fresh hot and delicious for the same price
